Creating a Calendar Using PrintMaster Gold 16

Creating a yearly, monthly or weekly calendar with a theme sounds like a lot of work. This article will tell you how to easily create a calendar with a graphics program. Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Windows 98,2000, Me or XP
  • Printer
  • CD-ROM Drive
  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Printing Paper or Photo Paper
  • Software Program PrintMaster Gold 16
Once you have installed the PrintMaster Gold 16 application, click on "Start," "Programs" and then "PrintMaster 16." This will start the program. Click on "Create Brand New Project." A new window will appear and you must choose what project you wish to begin. Click on "Calendar" and then "Next". You now have to choose the type of calendar you want. Decide if you want a tall calendar or a wide one. Click on your choice and a new window appears. Decide if you would like a picture on the top of the calendar. A themed calendar, such as those with a picture of your child at the top of each month or week, is a great gift. Choose yes or no. If yes, choose where you want to place the picture. The next window appears with more selections. Determine if you want it for the current month or week or as gift for the following year. Making your choice in this window allows the program to compile the correct calendar you have chosen.

Appearing on the screen in front of you is the first page of your calendar. Place your picture on the calendar if desired. Click on "Search Art & Photos." If you would like to insert your own picture, ignore all the choices, except for those on the bottom. Pull the sidebar all the way to the bottom and click on "Your Own Art." This will allow you to upload your own pictures.

Select the picture you want on the page and click on it. It will appear in the middle of the PrintMaster Calendar page. Left click on it and hold down the mouse button to drag it to the section of the calendar that says "Place Picture Here." Release your mouse button and re-size your picture inside the dotted, lined box. Right click on the box behind the picture you just placed. Look at the task bar on the upper right side of the window. Click on the scissors. This will remove the box and writing behind your picture. Now that your calendar looks finished, it's time for the finishing touches. This is where you decide whether you want shadows around the number boxes, whether you want to place holidays on their correct date, the style of font you would like, and even the colors you want on the calendar. These can be done by clicking on the "Add or Edit Text" button on the left side of the screen. It can also be done by clicking on the "Add Color Set" button.

Typing in birthdays and holidays are optional. You calendar page at this point is complete except for printing. Repeat the above steps for each calendar you wish to make. When you have completed all the calendars, click on the printer icon at the top of the window in the task bar. Select how many copies of each calendar you wish to make and then click "OK."

Renee M. Hill-This is from my very own PrintMaster program. It is fun and easy to use. I have made many things with this program from Birthday cards and Christmas cards to Business cards to Calendars. It is fun to upload your own pictures and use them for cards and projects. You can print coloring books for the children using home pictures, or projects that already exist in the programs settings.
